Chandratal camping depends on road and weather conditions. Kunzum Pass and the Chandratal access road must be clear for the campsite to operate. If conditions are unsafe, we reroute and adjust the plan. Safety always comes first and our ground team makes real time decisions.

At the designated camping zone approximately one kilometre from Chandratal Lake. This is the only area where camping is permitted by the Himachal Pradesh Forest Department. The lake is visited on foot from the campsite. Camping at the lakeshore is not allowed.

Kaza daytime: 10 to 20 degrees Celsius. Kaza nights: 0 to 5 degrees. Chandratal nights: near freezing or below, even in July and August. Carry thermals, a good jacket, and gloves for the camping night.

Reckong Peo (Day 3) has reliable ATMs and network, so stock up there. Kaza has ATMs but they can be unreliable. No network at Chandratal. Carry enough cash for personal expenses throughout the trip.

Yes. An emergency oxygen cylinder is carried in the vehicle on every departure. Charge applies only if used. It is not a substitute for medical treatment.

Backup vehicle support can be arranged on demand if road or weather conditions require it. This is chargeable and subject to availability. Let us know at the time of booking if you want this added.
