What Our Travellers Say About Their Spiti Trip
Spiti Valley Tour Packages – Full Circuit & Short Circuit Itineraries
Our Spiti Valley tour packages cover both major routes into the valley. The Shimla-Kinnaur-Kaza route (typically 7-11 nights) takes you through Sangla, Chitkul, Kalpa, Nako, and Tabo before reaching Kaza — it’s more gradual and ideal for first-timers and families. The Manali-Kaza route (4-6 nights) goes through the Atal Tunnel and Kunzum Pass — shorter and more adventurous. Our full-circuit packages combine both, entering via Shimla and exiting through Manali, so you never repeat a road. Every package includes private vehicle with local Himachal driver, hotel and homestay stays, daily breakfast and dinner, and all sightseeing.

Frequently Asked Questions
Here are some frequently asked questions about Spiti Valley tour packages
How many days are needed for a Spiti Valley trip?
You need a minimum of 7 days for Spiti Valley via one route, or 10 to 13 days for the full Shimla–Kaza–Manali circuit. From Delhi, budget 8 to 9 days (1 full day of travel each side). From Chandigarh, 6 to 7 days is enough for the core Kaza circuit. From Mumbai or Bangalore, add 1 day each side for flights. A 4-night short trip from Chandigarh covering Kaza, Key Monastery, and Hikkim is possible for travellers short on time.
What is the best time to visit Spiti Valley in 2026?
The best time to visit Spiti Valley is mid-May to mid-October 2026. May–June is peak season with fresh snow views and newly opened roads. July–August brings light rain but lush green Pin Valley. September–October has the clearest skies — ideal for stargazing and photography at Chandratal. The Manali–Kaza road via Kunzum Pass opens late May after BRO snow clearance. The Shimla–Kinnaur–Kaza route stays open year-round.
How much does a Spiti Valley tour package cost per person?
Spiti Valley tour packages cost between ₹10,499 and ₹20,899 per person depending on duration. A 4-night trip from Chandigarh starts at ₹10,499. A 7–8 night package starts at ₹14,499. Full circuit 10–13 night packages cost ₹18,500 to ₹20,899. Prices include private vehicle, driver, hotel/homestay stay, daily breakfast and dinner, and sightseeing. Flights, lunch, and personal expenses are usually extra.
Is the Manali to Kaza road open now in 2026?
The Manali–Kaza road via Kunzum Pass (4,551 m) opens between late May and early June every year after BRO snow clearance, and stays open until mid-October. The Shimla–Kinnaur–Kaza route is open year-round. The Chandratal Lake road from Batal opens 1–2 weeks after Kunzum Pass. Road conditions change daily — we post weekly updates on our Chandratal road status 2026 page during the season.
Which is better for a first trip — Spiti Valley or Ladakh?
Spiti Valley is less crowded, more affordable, and more culturally authentic than Ladakh — making it better for first-time Himalayan travellers with 7 to 10 days. Ladakh offers more tourist infrastructure, direct flights to Leh, and iconic lakes like Pangong. Spiti’s average trip cost is ₹15,000–₹20,000 per person vs ₹25,000–₹35,000 for Ladakh. Choose Spiti for raw remoteness, ancient monasteries, and fewer tourists. Choose Ladakh for variety, easier access, and longer itineraries of 12+ days.
Is Spiti Valley safe for families with children?
Yes, Spiti Valley is safe for families with children aged 5 and above. Take the Shimla–Kinnaur route which gains altitude gradually over 2–3 days, reducing altitude sickness risk. Kaza sits at 3,650 m (12,000 ft) — spend at least 2 nights there for acclimatisation before going higher. Avoid camping; choose hotels and homestays. Carry altitude medication prescribed by your child’s paediatrician, and keep daily driving under 5–6 hours. Children under 5 are not recommended due to high altitude and limited medical facilities.
What is the distance from Delhi and Chandigarh to Spiti Valley?
Delhi to Kaza (Spiti Valley) is 680 km via Shimla (2 days by road) or 570 km via Manali (12–14 hours nonstop). Chandigarh to Kaza is 520 km via Shimla or 385 km via Manali. There is no airport or railway station in Spiti — the nearest airport is Bhuntar (Kullu, 200 km from Kaza) and the nearest major railway station is Chandigarh. From Mumbai, Kolkata, or Bangalore, fly to Delhi or Chandigarh and continue by road.
Do Indian citizens need permits for Spiti Valley?
No, Indian citizens do not need any permit to visit Spiti Valley. Carry a valid government photo ID (Aadhaar, driving licence, or voter ID) for police checkpoints along the route. A separate Rohtang Pass permit is required only if travelling via Manali — it costs ₹550 (petrol) or ₹700 (diesel) and can be booked online. Foreign nationals need a Protected Area Permit (Inner Line Permit) from the SDM office in Reckong Peo or Kaza.
What is included in a Spiti Valley tour package?
A standard Spiti Valley tour package includes: private vehicle with experienced local driver, hotel and homestay accommodation (twin/triple sharing), daily breakfast and dinner, all sightseeing as per itinerary, route permits, and on-ground support. Not usually included: flights or train tickets, lunch, personal expenses, travel insurance, and optional activities like river rafting or yak safari. Our packages also include oxygen cylinders for altitude emergencies and a Himachal-based local guide.
What is the temperature in Spiti Valley in May and June?
In May, Kaza daytime temperature is 10°C to 18°C and night temperature drops to -2°C to 5°C. In June, daytime reaches 15°C to 22°C with nights at 3°C to 8°C. Chandratal Lake (4,300 m) and Kunzum Pass (4,551 m) are 5–8°C colder than Kaza. May has occasional light snowfall at higher passes. June is mostly dry and sunny. Pack thermals, a windproof jacket, sunscreen (high-altitude UV is intense), and layers — Spiti weather can shift from sun to cold wind within an hour.

Why should you visit Spiti valley?
Spiti is one of those mountainous stations cut off from the rest of the world. Quite literally, given its remote location in the Himalayan upper elevations. Spiti fascinates travelers because it has so much to offer in terms of adventure and spiritual experience. You may see the world's highest motorable hamlet and post office, as well as some of the oldest monasteries. To get here by vehicle can take days, at the absolute least. Aside from that, Spiti has an entirely separate terrain, culture, food, and vibes.
