Suicide Point (Roghi Cliff Viewpoint) – 3 km

Although the name is quite alarming, this is one of the most stunning viewpoints overhanging a cliff in the area.
It is also a steep drop into a massive valley below, and the Sutlej river snakes through it far below. The locals will tell you that the light in the early morning and late afternoon make this place feel almost dimensionally changed.

A lovely Himachali village, this village makes for a scenic walk with its wooden houses lined with slate, and a lifestyle that whispers of a time long ago.
If you want to get a feel for the Kinnauri lifestyle here, then be sure to walk around. Plan for overhanging orchards, children playing outside brown homes and prayer flags waving in the wind.

Kalpa Monastery (Hu-Bu-Lan-Kar Gompa)

This is an ancient monastery located in the heart of Kalpa town. Here you have prayer wheels, Tibetan scriptures fluttering in the wind, and colored flags that dance with the wind coming off the mountains.
It is a serene place to sit and breathe, contemplating expansive mountain views.
Narayan–Nagini Temple

An impressive example of Kinnauri wood construction. Many tourists overlook this temple, but each local will tell you that it’s one of the most important sites in Kalpa’s cultural landscape. The carvings, mythological references, and still courtyard make it a distinctive stop.
Chaka Meadows Trek

This trail starts from Kalpa and climbs to around 3,650 meters at the viewpoint. It is steep but not long. Once you reach the viewing spot, the views open vastly, revealing snow-capped peaks and meadows stretching all the way to the horizon.
If you like short hikes for the sunrise, this will be worth every step.
