Most Loved Spiti Valley Bike Expedition With Chandratal Lake 2026
This is the Spiti bike trip that earned its name from the riders who did it. The Most Loved Spiti Valley Bike Expedition With Chandratal Lake is a 10 day, 7 riding day full circuit on Royal Enfield Himalayan motorcycles covering five valleys of Himachal — Kullu, Sangla, Kinnaur, Spiti, and Lahaul — with overnight Volvo from Delhi, bikes picked up and dropped in Manali, Chandratal Lake camping, and a local Himachali crew that knows every bend of this route. You enter Spiti through Jalori Pass and the Kinnaur Valley for gradual acclimatisation, and exit through Kunzum Pass and the Atal Tunnel to Manali. No shortcuts. No reckless altitude jumps. Just the smartest way to ride the complete Spiti circuit on a motorcycle.
What makes this Spiti bike trip from Delhi the most loved is the routing. Most operators throw you from Manali to Kaza in one brutal day — a jump from 2,050 metres to 4,590 metres at Kunzum Pass with zero acclimatisation. We take you through Jibhi at 1,900 metres, then Sangla at 2,600 metres, then Kalpa at 2,759 metres, and only then push to Kaza at 3,650 metres. Your body climbs in careful steps over four days, not one reckless leap. That is why our riders do not get sick, do not waste days recovering, and actually enjoy every stop on this Spiti Valley motorcycle expedition instead of fighting headaches and nausea. And yes, you still get the full route — Chitkul, Nako, Gue Mummy Village, Tabo Monastery, Dhankar, Key Monastery, Chicham Bridge, Hikkim, Langza, Kunzum Pass, and Chandratal Lake camping under the Milky Way.
The Most Loved Spiti Valley Bike Expedition With Chandratal Lake is a guided motorcycle tour built for riders who want the full circuit without the suffering. You get 7 riding days across 5 valleys, a Royal Enfield Himalayan with fuel, an experienced road captain and sweep rider, a dedicated mechanic, a backup vehicle, and on ground support from a crew that lives in these mountains.
- Smartest Acclimatisation In the Market: Jibhi (1,900m) to Sangla (2,621m) to Kalpa (2,759m) to Kaza (3,650m). Gradual altitude gain over four days with zero reckless jumps. This is why our riders actually enjoy Kaza instead of fighting altitude sickness.
- Jalori Pass Entry — The Road Nobody Else Takes: Your first mountain pass on Day 3. Jalori at 3,120 metres connects the Kullu and Sainj valleys through dense forests and unmetalled roads. It is a perfect riding warm up and an incredible road that most Spiti bike tours skip entirely.
- Complete Route Coverage: Jalori Pass, Chitkul, Kinnaur Kailash views, Nako Lake, Gue Mummy, Tabo Monastery, Dhankar Fort, Key Monastery, Chicham Bridge, Hikkim, Komik, Langza, Kunzum La, Chandratal Lake, and Atal Tunnel. Nothing skipped.
- Ideal For: Solo riders, friend groups, couples on bikes, experienced riders, and first time Himalayan riders who want a structured expedition with local support and the confidence that comes from riding with people who do this every week.

Frequently Asked Questions
What Is the Best Time for This Spiti Bike Expedition?
June to September. June and September are the sweet spots with fewer crowds and clear skies. July and August bring rain but the dramatic clouds and green patches make for incredible riding. The full Chandratal and Kunzum route typically opens by mid June.
Do I Need to Be an Experienced Rider?
Valid motorcycle licence is mandatory for solo riders. Riding experience on 400cc or above is recommended. The route includes Jalori Pass (unmetalled), Kinnaur cliff roads, the Gramphu to Batal stretch (gravel, river crossings), and Kunzum Pass at 4,590 metres. If you are new to mountain riding, you can join as a pillion rider or travel in the backup vehicle and still experience the same route, same stops, same camping, and same meals. The road captain assesses every rider on Day 2 and provides guidance throughout.
What Bike Will I Ride?
Royal Enfield Himalayan 411cc is the base tier motorcycle. The 450cc Himalayan upgrade is available on first come first serve basis for an additional charge. Both come with complete fuel for the entire route. If you prefer to ride your own bike, contact us for own bike pricing — fuel is excluded for own bike riders.
Why Does This Route Go Through Jibhi and Jalori Pass?
Two reasons. First, Jalori Pass at 3,120 metres is a brilliant riding road through dense forests and unmetalled switchbacks that most Spiti tours skip. It is a perfect warm up pass before the higher altitude crossings later in the trip. Second, the Jibhi to Sangla to Kalpa routing gives your body gradual altitude gain over four days instead of one reckless jump from Manali to Kaza. This is the smartest acclimatisation plan on any Spiti bike tour and it is why our riders actually enjoy Kaza instead of fighting headaches.
Is Chandratal Camping Guaranteed?
Chandratal camping depends on road and weather conditions. Kunzum Pass and the Chandratal access road must be clear. If conditions are unsafe, we reroute and adjust. Safety always comes first and the road captain makes real time decisions based on ground reports.
How Cold Does It Get?
Jibhi and Sangla: 10 to 20 degrees daytime. Kalpa: 8 to 18 degrees. Kaza daytime: 10 to 20 degrees. Kaza nights: 0 to 5 degrees. Chandratal at night: near freezing to below zero, even in July. Pack thermals, warm jacket, and thick socks for the camping night.
What About Mobile Network and ATMs?
Jio and Airtel work until Kinnaur then drop off. BSNL postpaid works best in Spiti. ATMs are unreliable past Reckong Peo. Day 4 passes through Reckong Peo — that is your last chance to withdraw cash. Carry Rs 5,000 to 10,000 for lunches, personal expenses, and monastery fees. No UPI at Chandratal.
