This is the complete 8 Nights 9 Days Spiti Valley Summer Circuit from Hyderabad, designed for travellers who want to experience the entire valley in a single trip. After a short flight to Delhi, you enter through Shimla and the lush Kinnaur Valley, and exit via Manali, ensuring you never travel the same road twice. The route is carefully planned for gradual and safe altitude gain — moving through Sangla, Chitkul, and Kalpa before reaching the high-altitude desert of Kaza. Along the way, you will explore Tabo’s thousand-year-old monastery, the cliffside Dhankar Monastery, the wildlife-rich Pin Valley, and the surreal villages of Langza, Hikkim, and Komic. You’ll also visit the iconic Key Monastery, Kibber, and the engineering marvel Chicham Bridge, before ending with a magical camping night beside Chandratal Lake. Itinerary

Day 1: Fly Hyderabad to Delhi – Board Overnight Volvo to Shimla

  • Take a morning or midday flight from Hyderabad to Delhi (about 2 hours 10 minutes) and reach the boarding point by evening.
  • Meet your group and board the overnight Volvo towards Shimla.
  • Settle in and rest as the bus climbs into the hills.
  • Overnight journey to Shimla.

Day 2: Shimla to Sangla via Narkanda & the Sutlej Valley (260 km / 9–10 hrs)

  • Arrive in Shimla and begin a scenic drive deep into Kinnaur, following the Sutlej River.
  • Pass the apple country around Narkanda and Kufri, with dhaba stops for chai and snacks.
  • Watch the landscape shift from pine forests to dramatic river gorges.
  • Reach the beautiful Baspa (Sangla) Valley by evening and check in.
  • Dinner and overnight stay in Sangla.

Day 3: Sangla – Chitkul Excursion – Kalpa (95 km / 5–6 hrs)

  • Drive to Chitkul, the last inhabited village on the old Indo-Tibet road, set on the sparkling Baspa River.
  • Soak in the meadows, wooden houses, and crisp mountain air of this border hamlet.
  • Continue via Reckong Peo to Kalpa (2,960 m), framed by the towering Kinner Kailash range.
  • Enjoy sunset views over the snow peaks from your stay.
  • Dinner and overnight stay in Kalpa.

Day 4: Kalpa to Tabo via Khab Confluence & Nako (200 km / 8–9 hrs)

  • After breakfast, drive deeper into the arid trans-Himalaya, leaving Kinnaur’s greenery behind.
  • Stop at the Khab confluence, where the Spiti and Sutlej rivers meet, and at the high village and lake of Nako.
  • Cross into the Spiti district as the scenery turns starkly beautiful.
  • Reach Tabo by evening and check in.
  • Dinner and overnight stay in Tabo.

Day 5: Tabo – Dhankar – Pin Valley – Mud Village – Kaza (120 km / 6–7 hrs)

  • Explore the 1,000-year-old Tabo Monastery, the “Ajanta of the Himalayas,” famed for its ancient mud-walled murals.
  • Drive to the spectacular cliff-top Dhankar Monastery, perched between the Spiti and Pin rivers.
  • Branch into Pin Valley National Park — home to ibex and the elusive snow leopard — up to the last village of Mud.
  • Continue to Kaza, the lively heart of Spiti, by evening.
  • Dinner and overnight stay in Kaza.

Day 6: Kaza – Langza, Hikkim & Komic High-Village Circuit

  • Drive up to Langza (4,400 m) with its giant Buddha statue and marine fossils.
  • Send a postcard from Hikkim, the world’s highest post office.
  • Visit Komic, among the highest motorable villages on earth, and its Tangyud Monastery.
  • Return to Kaza for a relaxed evening.
  • Dinner and overnight stay in Kaza.

Day 7: Kaza – Key Monastery – Kibber – Chicham Bridge – Kunzum Pass – Chandratal

  • Visit the iconic Key Monastery, stacked dramatically above the river, followed by the high village of Kibber.
  • Cross Chicham Bridge, Asia’s highest suspension bridge, over a deep gorge.
  • Drive over Kunzum Pass (4,551 m) towards Chandratal Lake.
  • Reach the designated camping zone and walk to the crescent-shaped “Moon Lake”.
  • Dinner and overnight stay at the Chandratal camp (triple-sharing tents).

Day 8: Chandratal – Batal – Manali – Board Overnight Volvo to Delhi

  • Wake to a serene Himalayan morning and depart Chandratal via Batal.
  • Cross back into the Lahaul Valley and through the Atal Tunnel to Manali by late afternoon.
  • Freshen up and board your overnight Volvo towards Delhi.
  • Overnight journey to Delhi.

Day 9: Arrive Delhi – Fly Home to Hyderabad (Trip Ends)

  • Arrive in Delhi in the morning and connect to an afternoon or evening flight back to Hyderabad.
  • Trip ends after a complete Spiti circuit.

  • Extra costs from weather disruptions, landslides, road closures, diversions, or local authority rules, including additional night stays if the trip extends.
  • Backup vehicle cost unless explicitly added.

  • Standard hotel check-in is 11 AM; early check-in is subject to availability.
  • Transport runs as per the itinerary and is not at personal disposal; air conditioning may not operate efficiently in hilly terrain.
  • Rates may change without prior notice due to force majeure, weather, strikes, or other circumstances beyond our control; we will arrange suitable alternatives where possible.
  • We reserve the right to cancel a booking even after payment, in which case any amount received is refunded.
  • Any misconduct affecting the group or staff may result in dismissal from the tour without refund.

How do I get to this circuit from Hyderabad?
Fly Hyderabad to Delhi (about 2 hours 10 minutes) on Day 1 and board the overnight Volvo to Shimla the same evening. We recommend a flight that lands in Delhi by afternoon so you have buffer time. Flights and airport transfers are not included; the Delhi–Shimla Volvo is.
What is the best time for this summer Spiti circuit with Chandratal?
Mid-June through early October is ideal. Kunzum Pass and the Chandratal camping zone open once snow clears, usually by the second or third week of June; September brings the clearest skies and fewer crowds.
Is this circuit suitable for first-time Spiti travellers?
Yes — entering via Shimla and Kinnaur means you gain altitude gradually over several days before reaching the high villages, which makes it one of the safest and most comfortable ways to experience Spiti for the first time.
Is Chandratal camping guaranteed?
Camping depends entirely on Kunzum Pass opening and current road and weather conditions. When access is unsafe, we adjust the plan with safety first and arrange the best possible alternative.
Where exactly is the Chandratal camp?
Camping is only at the designated camping zone near Chandratal, a short drive from the lake. The lake itself is visited on foot, and there is no camping at the shore, in line with local rules.
How cold does it get at Chandratal and Kaza in summer?
Kaza nights run roughly 5–10°C, while Chandratal and the high passes can drop to 0–5°C even in summer. Carry thermals, a down jacket, and gloves.
Do you provide oxygen support, and how is it charged?
An emergency oxygen cylinder is carried in the vehicle on every departure for support purposes. It is chargeable only if used and is not a substitute for professional medical care.
