Itinerary

Day 1: Jaipur to Delhi (Reach Delhi & Drive to Narkanda)

Travel from Jaipur to Delhi; we recommend arriving the previous evening so you are ready for an early start (we can help arrange an overnight train, Volvo, or a Delhi pre-night).
Meet your group and set off on the scenic drive towards Narkanda via Shimla and Kufri, with dhaba stops for chai and snacks.
Reach Narkanda by evening, check in, and take in your first taste of crisp Himalayan air.
Dinner and overnight stay in Narkanda.

Day 2: Narkanda to Sangla (200 km / 8–9 hrs)

After breakfast, descend towards the Sutlej Valley and drive deep into Kinnaur.
Follow the river through dramatic gorges and apple orchards.
Reach the beautiful Baspa (Sangla) Valley by evening and check in.
Dinner and overnight stay in Sangla.

Day 3: Sangla – Chitkul Excursion – Kalpa (95 km / 5–6 hrs)

Drive to Chitkul, the last inhabited village on the old Indo-Tibet road, on the banks of the Baspa.
Wander its meadows and wooden houses before continuing via Reckong Peo.
Reach Kalpa (2,960 m), with sweeping views of the Kinner Kailash range.
Enjoy a relaxed evening soaking in the mountain panorama.

Day 4: Kalpa – Nako – Gue – Tabo (200 km / 8–9 hrs)

Drive into the arid trans-Himalaya, stopping at the high village and lake of Nako.
Visit Gue, famous for the naturally preserved 500-year-old mummy of a Buddhist monk.
Cross into Spiti as the landscape turns starkly beautiful.
Reach Tabo by evening and check in.

Day 5: Tabo – Dhankar – Kaza (120 km / 6–7 hrs)

Explore the 1,000-year-old Tabo Monastery, the “Ajanta of the Himalayas.”
Drive to the cliff-top Dhankar Monastery, perched between the Spiti and Pin rivers.
Soak in scenic drives along the Spiti River before reaching Kaza, the heart of the valley.
Settle into Kaza and rest as you acclimatise.

Day 6: Kaza Sightseeing – High Villages & Monasteries Circuit

Drive up to Langza (4,400 m), Hikkim (world’s highest post office), and Komic (among the highest motorable villages on earth).
Continue to the iconic Key Monastery and the high village of Kibber.
Cross Chicham Bridge, Asia’s highest suspension bridge, over a deep gorge.
Return to Kaza for a relaxed evening and local market stroll.

Day 7: Kaza – Kunzum Pass – Chandratal Camp

After breakfast, drive towards Kunzum Pass (4,551 m), the gateway between Spiti and Lahaul.
Cross into the Chandratal region and reach the designated camping zone.
Walk the short trail to the crescent-shaped “Moon Lake” and soak in its still reflections.
Enjoy a starlit night at the campsite.
Dinner and overnight stay at the Chandratal camp (triple-sharing tents).

Day 8: Chandratal to Manali (130 km / 6–7 hrs)

Depart Chandratal via Batal and cross back into the Lahaul Valley.
Drive through the Atal Tunnel to Manali, arriving by afternoon.
Check in and enjoy a comfortable night in a Manali hotel after the high-altitude days.
Dinner and overnight stay in Manali.

Day 9: Manali to Delhi – Connect to Jaipur (Overnight Return Journey)

After a relaxed morning, board your overnight Volvo from Manali towards Delhi.
Arrive in Delhi and connect onward to Jaipur.
Trip ends after a complete Shimla-to-Manali Spiti circuit.

May to September is the prime window, when both routes are accessible. Chandratal access depends on Kunzum Pass opening and current conditions, usually from around mid-June.

Kaza nights run roughly 5–10°C, while Chandratal and the high passes can fall to 0–5°C even in summer. Carry warm layers, a down jacket, and gloves.

Do you provide oxygen support on this tour?

Yes — an emergency oxygen cylinder is carried in the vehicle on every departure. It is chargeable only if used and is not a substitute for professional medical treatment.

What if roads close due to landslides or sudden weather?

The circuit is condition-led. If roads close, we reroute for safety and arrange the best possible alternative, though any additional night stays from extended delays are charged at actuals.
